Gotham Isn't Beyond Saving

Gotham Isn't Beyond Saving An eclectic mix of reblogs, random pictures, odd writings and way too many fandoms, run by a diffident nerd.

I'm Steve and I am the Once and Future Batman. I'm 27 and I'm an actor living in New York City. I'm mostly just trying to find my own way through life.

I'm a huge nerd. Batman, Star Wars, Doctor Who and so much more. Take a look around.

I really want the Grant Morrison cover for Multiversity, but $100 is a lot for a single issue. :/

Totally got it for WAY less than $100. Thanks eBay.

The Raiders’ Maurice Jones-Drew - a touchdown capped with a “Hands Up - Don’t Shoot” pose.

“I am raising three African American boys,” Jones-Drew told the Chronicle. “Whenever you see things like that … and it’s not just Ferguson, I was in Jacksonville when Trayvon Martin happened, I was in Jacksonville when the gas station shooting over the loud music happened. Those things touch home.

“I definitely wanted to show the people out in Ferguson and around the world that as athletes, we understand and we try to do whatever we can to make a statement. If we could do more, we would.”

A little more in the San Francisco Chronicle.

"A coroner’s report obtained exclusively by NBC News directly contradicts the police version of how a 22-year-old black man died in the back seat of a Louisiana police cruiser earlier this year — but still says the man, whose hands were cuffed behind his back, shot himself.

In a press release issued March 3, the day he died, the Louisiana State Police said Victor White III apparently shot himself in an Iberia Parish police car. According to the police statement, White had his hands cuffed behind his back when he shot himself in the back.

But according to the full final report of the Iberia Parish coroner, which was released nearly six months later and obtained exclusively by NBC News, White was shot in the front, not the back. The bullet entered his right chest and exited under his left armpit. White was left-handed, according to family members. According to the report, the forensic pathologist found gunshot residue in the wound, but not the sort of stippling that a close-range shot can sometimes produce. He also found abrasions on White’s face.

And yet, despite the contradictions – and even though White’s hands were never tested for gunpowder residue – the Iberia Parish coroner still supported the central contention of the initial police statement issued back in March. Dr. Carl Ditch ruled that White shot himself, and declared his death a suicide."

At Stanford there was this Professor who was a total bitch and she taught British Literature, which was cool. Except she taught only her opinions of the books and it didn’t help me as a writer. I went to school to learn new things to improve my craft, not have someone else’s opinions carved onto my forehead.

So anyway, for our final project, she asked us to write a ten page paper on why the color symbolism in Othello was so significant. I did some research and it turned out that she did her entire graduate thesis on this very subject. I was mad. This wasn’t teaching, this was boosting her ego. SO I wrote a ten page essay on why color symbolism in Othello wasn’t significant, satirizing it to the point of no return, saying that her opinion was an opinion and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

SHe failed me, needless to say. So in retaliation, I responded by baking a batch of brownies laced with weed and laxatives and delivered them myself to the professor hours before her big graduation speech. I told her that it was a peace offering, my way of apologizing and asking if I could do anything to fix my grade.

She refused to fix my grade.

In the end, she shit herself on stage.

I didn’t regret it.

No mercy.

remind me to never, ever, ever screw with you

This is just wonderful.

Gotham Geeks Podcast

Reblogged from gothamgeekspodcast

gothamgeekspodcast:

Going live in about 3 and 1/2 hours on iTunes, Stitcher, and wherever podcasts are freely thrown to the wolves, it’s Episode 18 - The Month After Comic Con!

The Geeks recap all the news that has come out during and since San Diego Comic Con, but not before announcing a give-away and a potential contest of sorts…

We cover everything from Avengers 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant Man, to all the news surrounding Batman v Superman, including the outfits and the announcement about Jason Momoa. Steve even rants about Wonder Woman’s heels for a few minutes and reveals his theory about what might be going on during the movie.

We also spend a good chunk of time talking about the goings-on in the TV universe. Arrow’s made some big announcements, Flash has made some big announcements, and DC announced they were making a terrible decision and not tying the current TV universe of Arrow/Flash to the movies at all. We also touch on the lost Two-Face episode of Batman 66, Constantine, and Gotham.

We get back to the movies to discuss (briefly) Sin City and the Godzilla sequel, as well as the new DC animated movies Batman vs Robin and Justice League: Gods and Monsters.

Raoul brings us home with a humerous story about a recent trip to see a Dragon Ball Z movie.

As always, http://ift.tt/1vNLwBQ is your source for the Gotham Geeks on the internet.

Original music by Matt Middleton, intro by Kyle Higgins (NIGHTWING, C.O.W.L., BATMAN BEYOND 2.0, BATMAN ETERNAL). Like us on FB: http://ift.tt/1hXNkA5
